DualSense Adaptive Triggers Support Lands in Nightly Builds

DualSense Adaptive Triggers Support Lands in Nightly Builds

One of the most requested features is finally landing: adaptive trigger emulation for the DualSense controller. Nightly builds can now translate the PS5’s trigger-effect commands into real resistance and vibration profiles on genuine DualSense hardware connected over USB or Bluetooth.

What works today

  • Basic resistance profiles (constant and section resistance)
  • Haptic feedback on the L2/R2 triggers for a first batch of titles
  • Automatic fallback to a regular gamepad profile when no DualSense is detected

What’s still missing

Weapon-specific dynamic effects and the finer haptic textures used by some first-party titles are not yet implemented. The team is reverse engineering the relevant system calls incrementally, one effect type at a time.

Feedback from nightly testers is what drives prioritization here, so bug reports with specific games and effect descriptions are extremely valuable.
